Meet Leo

Meet Leo, Beautiful Day’s marketing associate! He is the face behind the creative graphics and photos that help us share Beautiful Day’s stories each month.

Leo was born in Monrovia, Liberia, during a civil war. One of his earliest memories is of constantly moving. “You could always hear explosions in the distance,” he said, “you couldn’t ever truly get away.” But in all that chaos, Leo has good memories, especially of being connected to nature. “I remember picking a plum right from a tree or cutting a piece of sugar cane while walking home from school.” Leo lived through three more civil wars before coming to Rhode Island at age 13, where he joined his parents and siblings on Christmas Eve.

Leo's love for art started in Liberia. Since school focused on traditional subjects, he practiced sketching at home. “I would draw old action movie posters, like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean Claude Van Damme.” Leo eventually earned a bachelor’s in arts and graphic design from RIC.

Today, Leo is a busy father raising his two daughters, while looking for new clients as he launches his own business. Leo hopes to grow as an artist and “be a role model to my children and inspire them to also explore their interests and passions.”
