In light of the unknowns facing refugee resettlement programs, especially the delayed arrivals and the decrease in numbers anticipated to resettle in the US, we have, nonetheless, witnessed a steady stream of goodwill towards the trainees in our program. There are many refugees who need and deserve our collective support during this uncertain time.
Tough as it is to accept that fewer refugees will be able to rebuild their lives in our country this year, we see the evidence of our friends’ kindness and generosity in their purchasing of our products and the provision of financial investment for our unique and practical job training. Our accomplishments are your accomplishments.
When you see the pictures of the many refugees who join our program in search of skills, first paychecks, and friends who believe in them, please know that we - meaning you along with us - are right behind them, committed to continuing this work. Without you this would never happen.
We are happy to share that our dedicated Board of Directors has collectively pledged $10,000 to match the funds raised through this special appeal. This means that if you donate $250, your donation will be multiplied by two and become $500. All funds raised will support our training program goals for 27 participants by end of December 2017.
A fundraising effort such as this can only succeed if our closest friends respond with a donation (to be instantly doubled by our Board members).
