Beautiful Day is thrilled to be the recipient of a grant of nearly $50,000 from the Rhode Island Foundation designated towards hiring our first marketing and sales manager. Any marketing/sales geniuses out there? Working for an innovative non-profit social-venture is both challenging and satisfying (and awfully fun).

These funds will expand our earned income from sales, grow our training program, and expand the impact that refugees and all who make efforts to welcome them have on our shared community and the local economy.

As we continue to develop a premium granola business that functions as a vehicle to onramp refugees into the workforce, we recognize that we are also contributing to the state and local economy. Having the Rhode Island Foundation as our charitable investor is going to propel Beautiful Day forward as we become a more mature organization with stronger revenue streams to support our mission.

“Every grant we make underscores our commitment to moving Rhode Island forward. We work closely with our donors and grantees to ensure there are the resources and the resourcefulness to achieve great impact,” said Neil Steinberg, the Foundation’s president and CEO.

Our guiding idea was that a simple product like granola might offer everyone in our community a touch point to start engaging with the worldwide problem of human displacement at a very local level. Rhode Island has turned out to be the perfect place to do this. It has the long history of hospitality, the rich cultural diversity, the embrace of local hand-made foods, the growing commitment to innovative social ventures, and the generosity of money and spirit to give an idea like this room to grow. A big thanks to the Rhode Island Foundation. We are really honored.
